Many years have passed since Broadgate first introduced the concept of shore based maintenance for shipboard electronics, refining and tailoring the service and calling it Devolved Management of Shipboard Electronics (DMSE).

Our DMSE service is now established world-wide and employed by many leading ship owners and ship management companies. In fact we provide support to over 170 ships trading worldwide.

Shored Based MaintenanceThe service provides qualified support from trained engineers 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, with one point of contact for help and advice. The customer keeps control of expenditure, has advice and reports for budgetary considerations, and can be assured that costs are monitored on his behalf.

Shored Based Maintenance (SBM) is just one aspect of DMSE. Whilst SBM is an important facet of the GMDSS, it only covers GMDSS equipment.

DMSE, on the other hand, covers SBM, communications equipment (SatCom B, C, M, Fleet, data comms), Aids to Navigation (ARPA, radar, ECDIS, VMS, IBS, Navtex, speed log, echo-sounders) and other miscellaneous equipment (Communal Aerials, PA systems, telephone).
