System Components
With our unique experience of VDRs we are aware that every single ship is unique, and therefore we have designed the VER4000-S to be completely flexible, to allow for easy integration with the many different systems that we have encountered. Our engineers have been involved at every stage of development, using the latest technology to achieve adaptability and to allow user-friendly playback of the recorded information.
This new technology, now patent protected, gives unsurpassed advantages in recording onboard activity. Yet this range of capabilities has been achieved without sacrificing the key benefits of simplicity and reliability: the onboard equipment operates fully automatically, with no need for attention except in the event of an incident.
The onboard system consists of two units:
 |
Main Electronics Enclosure (M.E.E.)
- Bulkhead mounting
- Designed for installation on the bridge or in an adjacent equipment room
- Automatic operation
- A removable compact flash card stores data for immediate, easy analysis onboard or ashore.
|

 |
Protective Capsule
- A choice of capsules is available for S-VDR installations: A fixed unit, which stays with the ship, or a float-free device featuring a hydrostatic release mechanism.
- Houses the solid state memory
- 12 -24 hours continuous recording using solid-state memory
- Deck mounting
- Designed to withstand extreme conditions, thereby protecting the stored data.
